Welcome to the Medfield Makes Music website. We are a music instruction studio located on Route 109 in Medfield, Massachusetts. We provide weekly private lessons in piano, guitar, electric bass, drums, voice, violin, beginner banjo and beginner saxophone. We also have a variety of ensemble opportunities throughout the year. We provide a healthy musical environment that encourages exploration into music beyond the playing of an instrument. We have a listening library, a book library, recording equipment and music software that can be used during and outside of lessons.
The teaching year includes a large recital in early spring at which time we also put out the Medfield Makes Music Songbook. This songbook is a compilation of all original compositions and arrangements written by our students during the year.
We take pride in using teaching methods that are very flexible, adjusting to the unique needs and desires of each student. Our teaching materials include a wide variety of styles ranging from the standard traditional repertoire to jazz, rock, blues, or pop music. Composition, song writing, ear training and music theory are also integrated into our teaching approaches beginning in the very early stages of learning.
Open since 2003, Medfield Makes Music continues to grow and expand, taking on new teachers, bringing in new instruments, building our libraries and exploring new technologies to fit the needs of the young musicians in our surrounding communities.
