Private Music Instruction For All Ages

Welcome to the Medfield Makes Music website. We are a private music instruction studio located on Route 109 in Medfield, Massachusetts. We provide weekly private lessons in piano, guitar, cello, violin, viola, drums/percussion, songwriting, composition, music theory, electric bass and voice.

In addition to weekly private instruction, we provide a healthy musical environment which encourages exploration into music beyond the playing of an instrument. We have a listening library, a book library, and music software which can be used during and outside of lessons.

The teaching year includes a large recital in early spring at which time we also put out the Medfield Makes Music Songbook. This songbook is a compilation of all original compositions and arrangements written by our students during the year. A variety of workshops and small recitals are planned for this year as well.

We take pride in using teaching methods which are very flexible, adjusting to the unique needs and desires of each student. Our teaching materials include a wide variety of styles ranging from the standard traditional repetoir to jazz, rock, blues, or pop music. Composition, song writing, ear training and music theory are also integrated into our teaching approaches beginning in the very early stages of learning.

Open since 2003, Medfield Makes Music continues to grow and expand, taking on new teachers, bringing in new instruments, building our libraries, and exploring new technologies to fit the needs of the young musicians in our surrounding communities. Please, feel free to contact us if you are looking for music lessons that we currently provide, and don't hesitate if you are looking for an instrument not listed here. Knowledge of your interests and needs will help determine which ways we expand.

This just in! We have Medfield Makes Music shirts, hats, tote bags, and more! Click to check out our catalogue.
